To find a position in painting, means for me, to express a certain characteristic and a thought which appears important to me.

There are infinite faces in a person, dependent on the angles you look at it. Art should be just as infinite.

Using the language of pictures, I formulate ideas, which advance beyond the formal or structural differences that exist between them. In as much as they determine each other and build up on each other they inevitably differ from each other.

What is expected from contemporary painting, I may irritate, unmasking its stereotypes, and the usual questions, such as, “ What is that? What do you want to express by that?” Discussion about time in the 21st Century always implies the influence of preceding centuries.

For me, the "none" also needs a "the less" in order to be "something" that one may want to consider for more than a cigarette length……

Hence, I like to explore pictorial positions that are mysterious to me.

What I like is the symbiosis between the well-known and the unknown, scratching (as a cat would do!), drawings, comics, the modern art, e.g., Erich Heckel, E.L. Kirchner, as well as the style of the old masters, e.g., Diego Velasquez, Frans Hals, Jan Vermeer van Delft.
Philip Guston is one the great ones, too, to mention only one of the contemporary painters who fascinate me.
